Igelkottarna

Igelkottarna
The students in Igelkottarna (the Hedgehogs) are 5-6 years old. In our class, we learn the basics of the Swedish language such as the alphabet, the numbers, and other everyday things such as the days of the week and the seasons. We gradually introduce writing and reading, as this is the age when these skills are starting to develop. We are playing games, singing, and doing plenty of other activities in order for the student to develop their Swedish language skills. Gustaf is the teacher of the class.

This class is offered for kindergarteners. You must have turned 5 years old by September 1 to enter this class. By the end of the school year, students will be tested orally to identify their level of understanding of the Swedish language. The result of the test will be used to formally support the teachers’ evaluation of each student and the decision of which group each will move into next school year (Älgarna or Ugglorna). The test will be held by the class teacher close to the end of spring semester. The test will consist of 10 questions. To move onto Ugglorna it is important the student passes a majority of the questions asked.
